About Us El-Jay Plumbing & Heating was founded in 1967 by Louis Steffes and James Brum, The name, El-Jay was derived from the first letter of each of the founders’ first names. El is from the “L” in Louis and Jay is from the “J” in James. The Brum family took over ownership of the company in 1974. In 1998, brothers Andrew and William Fritz took ownership. Andrew Fritz became sole owner in 2002. El-Jay Plumbing & Heating is an industry leader in Central Minnesota.
